Wings welcome back Jamie Sendles-White

Welling United can confirm the return of defender Jamie Sendles-White, who has rejoined the Wings for the 2022/23 season.

The 6ft 2in centre-back initially arrived at Park View Road in March and played a key part in Welling’s successful fight for survival in Vanarama National League South, captaining the side for the final 10 games of the campaign.

“Last season was all about staying up,” explained Sendles-White.

” The gaffer called me as soon as he got the job and asked if I could come in and help the team stay in the league – thankfully we did that.

“I had a few bits to sort out at the end of the season and the gaffer made it clear that he wanted me to stay, thankfully we were able to get that sorted last week.

“It’s a very, very different atmosphere this season, the club’s in a much better place and things are being done properly which bodes well for the season.”

Sendles-White began his career as a youngster with Queens Park Rangers where he took in loan spells with Colchester United and Mansfield Town, before making the move to Scotland with Hamilton Academical in 2015. From there, he returned to the EFL with Swindon Town, prior to spells with Leyton Orient, St Albans City, Torquay United, Crawley Town, Aldershot Town and, finally, Maidenhead United before joining the Wings.

The 28-year-old made a return to the side on Saturday, playing all 90 minutes of the narrow 2-1 home defeat to Chelmsford City, before helping Warren Feeney’s side to all three points two days later in the Bank Holiday Monday victory at Dulwich Hamlet.

The Wings return to action at Park View Road as they host Oxford City on Saturday (3pm). Click here to get your tickets.
