Welling United are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Daniel Nkrumah on an initial one-month loan from Leyton Orient.

The 19-year-old forward came through the ranks at Brisbane Road having joined the club at the age of eight and made his senior debut for the O’s in the EFL Trophy in September 2021 at the age of 17.

He has since made a total of seven first-team appearances for Leyton Orient, including three outings off the bench in League Two at the back end of last season, making his league debut in an away trip to Sutton United in April.

Speaking of his new signing, Wings boss Warren Feeney added: “I’m very pleased. I want to thank Richie Wellens and Leyton Orient because we are a bit light up top with the injury to Ade Azeez – we were chasing around for a striker and he came straight back to us.

“He’s very highly rated by them, he’s been on their bench and made first-team appearances so I’m looking forward to him coming in.

“We’ve had to rush it through and I want to thank the staff here for making sure it was done in time.

“I’ve watched clips of him and Richie speaks highly of him. He’s got pace, he commits defenders and he’s an intelligent footballer – he gives us another body for 30 days.”

Nkrumah is eligible to play in Tuesday evening’s clash with Farnborough at Park View Road.
