Welling United 0-0 Dulwich Hamlet
Welling picked up a point at home with a second consecutive 0-0 draw, however it is now 5 league games since a goal shy Wings side found the back of the net a run that stretches back to late September against fellow strugglers Hungerford Town.
Early on Nathan Green brought out a save from Charlie Grainger who grabbed the ball at the second attempt. The returning Ejiro Okosieme then met a Sanchez Ming cross but Grainger gathered.
Ben Dempsey smashed a volley well over for Dulwich after a corner fell to him on the edge of the area. Montel Agyemang saw a weak shot easily saved by Grainger.
Korrey Henry then had a shot blocked by former Wings man Richard Orlu. A smart move involving Henry saw the loanee play a square ball to the on rushing Agyemang but he curled wide.
Right back Ming then galloped forward and with space opening up for him he produced a fizzer of a shot that was well saved by Grainger.
For all The Wings had the better of the half they nearly fell behind in first half stoppage time when Jeffrey Monakana crossed for another former Welling man Danny Mills to loop his header back off the angle of bar and post.
Early in the second half Anthony Cook saw a free kick easily saved before he bravely met a cross by Green but Grainger gathered.
Green did well to beat his marker before smashing an effort into the side netting from 25 yards out.
But as the game wore on and Welling failed to find the net, the away side grew in confidence perhaps sensing they could snatch the wina, and Yusuff shot well wide when well placed.
Dominic Vose then found an unmarked Lewis White at the back post but he dragged his shot wide. Rob Swaine was thankful to Wilks who was alert to a short back pass and the keeper was able to clear. Swaine though made amends with a superb last ditch header to deny Danny Mills a simple header as he tried to steal in at the back post.
In injury time, Welling had the last effort when Theo Widdrington smashed an audacious free kick over the bar from 35 yards out in what summed up a game between two badly out of form teams.
On Saturday Welling face Braintree Town at PVR looking to get back to winning and goal scoring ways.
