The Wings up for the Cup? Welling United vs Chesham United
Welling United start their Emirates FA Cup campaign for the 2018/19 season, when Chesham United come to DA16 on Saturday afternoon. The Wings faithful will be fully aware not to take the Southern Premier Division South side lightly after watching Welling go out at home to Haringey Borough at the same stage of the competition last year. Despite not having a great start to the season which sees The Generals bottom of their league, they did beat Biggleswade Town at home 2-1 to set up the tie with Welling United.
Welling Manager Steve King spoke with WUFC TV about the game on Saturday and he knows the importance of the match.
“Form goes out the window, leagues go out the window in the cup and we will be taking Chesham double serious. We have had them fully scouted, we are taking it very seriously. I love the FA Cup, I put it right up their as a priority and with the FA doubling prize money in the early rounds this season a cup run is what we want”
Kick off at Park View Road on Saturday is at 3pm and admission prices are as follows:
