Swaine signs on

Mark Goldberg is delighted to confirm the signing of centre back Rob Swaine from Maidstone United.

Swaine was Bromley captain under Goldberg in his four-year spell at Bromley, reaching the play offs in his first season and leading the team to promotion as Conference South champions the following year.  Rob then lead the team in the National League.

Swaine, 31, made 17 appearances for The Stones in the Vanarama National League last season having joined them mid-way through the season. He has also played for the likes of Chelmsford City and Billericay Town in the past.

On joining Welling, Swaine said;

Welling is a club I’ve known about for a long time and were unfortunate not to get promoted last season. I’ve worked and been successful with Mark (Goldberg) and Hugo (Langton) before so I’m very happy to be on board. Last season was a bit of a disappointment for me, despite playing well personally.

On the season ahead, Swaine added;

I know how good a coach Hugo is and I’m sure that he and the coaching team can attract the right players and build a successful side. It will be a tough league again but I’m really looking forward to getting going.

Everyone at PVR is pleased to have Rob on board for the new season as The Wings new-look squad starts to take shape. Welcome, Rob!
