NEWS | Wings fade away at home to Dorking

After Good Friday’s memorable comeback on the south coast at Eastbourne Borough, attentions turned to Dorking Wanderers at Park View Road on Easter Monday (18/04/2022).

The high-flying visitors were the better team in the first 45 minutes with Alfie Rutherford’s first half hattrick giving the Surrey side a 3-0 advantage at the break.

It was an improved second half display from Welling, who saw both Aaron Barnes and Alfie Matthews forced off with knocks.

And there wasn’t to be any repeat of Friday’s heroics as Davide Rodari added Dorking’s fourth in added time.

Despite the defeat, Wings remain second bottom of the Vanarama National League South, just a point clear of Billericay Town with four games to play.

Our next game is back at Park View Road on Saturday 23rd April, as we entertain Havant and Waterlooville, with tickets available both online and at the turnstiles.
