Welling United head to the south Coast on Saturday as they take on Weymouth at the Bob Lucas Stadium (3pm).

The Wings will be buoyed by the midweek victory in the Kent Senior Cup at Ebbsfleet United and will be hoping take that form into the league at the weekend.

Without a victory in six league outings, Warren Feeney will be looking to kick-start his side for the last 10 games of the campaign, leaning into the form away from home with Welling unbeaten in their last three on the road, winning one and drawing two.

Meanwhile, the Wings may feel they owe their opponents having already suffered a pair of defeats to the Terras this season, including a defeat in the FA Cup in Dorset back in October.

Feeney will be assessing the fitness of Medy Elito, Christy Pattisson and Ade Azeez who have all been missing recently through injury, while Sam Cox will be unavailable following his dismissal last weekend and is also currently following concussion protocol after receiving a blow to the head at Ebbsfleet on Tuesday.

THE OPPOSITION
Weymouth are another side who come up against the Wings entrenched in a relegation battle.

The Terras are currently second from bottom with 32 points from their 36 games played, so far, five points from safety.

After picking up back-to-back wins against Concord Rangers and Dartford, their last three games have seen them lost to relegation rivals Chippenham Town and Hungerford Town and draw at Braintree Town.

The home defeat to Hungerford in midweek saw Weymouth come back to 2-2 from two goals down, before capitulation late on, conceding three times in the last 12 minutes to lose 5-2, while Brendon Wilson was sent off to compound the frustration.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “We have to make sure we’ve got the players fit. We’ve got a few injuries and niggles so we have to wrap them up in cotton wool.

“We’ve played them twice this season and we were disappointed with how they went. They’re fighting for their lives which, as we know, is dangerous. We’re into the nitty gritty and there’s 30 points to play for, we have to earn it.”

Weymouth boss, Bobby Wilkinson: “We let ourselves down [on Tuesday]. The players are down and I have to pick them up. They’re hurting as a group and the fans were rightly angry.

“We have to regroup and go again on Saturday and put on a better performance. We have to stay together. If we go down, I want to make sure we go down fighting.”
