Welling United will be looking to pick themselves up and get back to winning ways when they host Taunton Town in the rearranged fixture at Park View Road on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

The Wings suffered defeat in the cruelest of fashions at Weymouth at the weekend, battling well with 10 men for the majority of the game and bagging an equaliser late on before a goal deep into injury time broke their resolve.

And despite defeat, Warren Feeney will be hoping his side can harness the spirit shown on the road to secure a first home win since New Year’s Day.

Amadou Kassarate will be available with his suspension set to kick in this weekend, but Feeney will have a number of injury concerns with Myles Roberts, Rob Howard, Aaron Barnes and Medy Elito all carrying knocks, while Sam Cox and Kai McKenzie-Lyle will be unavailable for selection with the duo away on international duty with Guyana.

THE OPPOSITION
In their first season since promotion to the sixth tier, the Peacocks are looking over their shoulder at the drop zone as they sit just one place and one point above the bottom four, but have a number of games in hand on their nearest rivals – four on most and in some cases five.

They have earned nine wins, 10 draws and 14 defeats from their 33 games played, so far.

They come into the game with just one win in their last 11 outings and were defeated 2-1 by Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wings shared the spoils with the Peacocks in a goalless stalemate on the opening day of the season back in August.

Welling had the better chances on the day, but were made to settle for a point in what was Taunton’s first ever game in National League South.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “We have to dust the players down and try to make them comfortable. We’ve got injuries and we’ve got to take that on the chin.

“The lads are gutted after the weekend, but we have to pick them up and get them ready. We have to take the positives from Saturday and go again.”

Taunton boss Rob Dray: “We’ve got a tough week coming up with three away games. We have to focus on the next game and find a way to get some confidence back into the group and get results.”

REF WATCH
Michael Robertson-Tant will be the man in the middle on Tuesday evening. He has taken charge of 16 games, so far, this term including the 2-1 victory over Cheshunt in August.

He will be assisted by Richard Joss and Steven Goldup.
