Welling United get back on home turf at Park View Road on Saturday as they host Hampton & Richmond Borough (3pm).

The Wings finally returned to winning ways in their own back yard with a 1-0 victory over Bath City last weekend, but they will need to bounce back from a narrow midweek defeat at Chippenham Town which the hosts edge a 3-2 win at Hardenhuish Park.

Warren Feeney will have to check on the fitness of his double goalscorer from Tuesday night, Taylor Maloney, after the midfielder was forced off with a hamstring injury.

Myles Roberts remains unavailable between the sticks, but Kai McKenzie-Lyle is due to return to the UK in time for Saturday’s match after keeping two clean sheets for Guyana while on international duty.

Meanwhile, Sadik Balarabe and Medy Elito are doubts as the duo continue to nurse injuries.

Amadou Kassarate remains suspended, as does Stefan Payne, who will sit out the last of his three-game ban.

THE OPPOSITION
The Beavers endured a torrid time between November and February, going winless for 12 games before picking up form in recent weeks to drag themselves away from the relegation dogfight.

Four wins on the bounce earlier this month was followed by a 1-0 defeat at home to Farnborough last weekend, but they bounced back with a 3-1 victory over 10-man Taunton Town in midweek.

Hampton come into the game in 15th position in Vanarama National League South, one place and two points better off than the Wings who can leapfrog them with victory on Saturday.

They have won 13, drawn 8 and lost 19 of their 40 games, so far.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “We have a few injuries that we have to deal with, but that’s part and parcel of football. We’re down to the bare bones, but we have to get on with it, dust themselves down and look forward to the game.

“It’s no surprise to me how well they’ve done [the management team at Hampton & Richmond], they’re football people and have given them a new lease on life. They had a good result the other night, so it will be a tough game.”

LAST TIME OUT
The Wings and the Beavers played out a 1-1 draw at the Beveree Stadium in the reverse fixture back in October.

Welling, who were made to wear their hosts’ change strip after travel issues prevented their own kit from making it to the ground for kick-off, went ahead via a Taylor Maloney penalty before Hampton levelled matters with a penalty of their own courtesy of Tommy Block early in the second half.

REF WATCH

Ben Robinson will be the man in charge of Saturday’s fixture. He has refereed five National League North fixtures, so far, this term and it will be his first experience officiating the Wings.

He will be assisted by Billy Woods and Deryll David.
