Welling United head back to DA16 on Saturday for a Kent-derby clash with Dartford, looking to build on last weekend’s success on the road.

The Wings earned a deserved 1-0 victory over play-off hopefuls Chelmsford City last time out thanks to Taylor Maloney’s penalty and it could well have been just the platform Warren Feeney’s side need as they prepare for the clash against the Darts in from of what is expected to be a bumper crowd at Park View Road.

Feeney’s new-look side has seen a trio of additions over the last week, with Jodi Lyons-Foster and Kyrell Lisbie both in line to make potential home debuts on Saturday, while striker George Alexander could make his Wings bow after arriving from Bromley on loan on Thursday.

THE OPPOSITION
After a rocky start to the campaign, Dartford soon shot up the table to place themselves firmly in the automatic promotion picture.

They currently sit in second place, six points off Ebbsfleet United in top spot with Alan Dawson’s men having played a game more. They’ve recorded 18 wins, three draws and eight defeats this term.

The Darts come into the game off the back of back-to back defeats – a 3-1 home defeat to Hemel Hempstead Town and a 3-0 defeat at Worthing last weekend.

Forward Alex Wall was shown a straight red card in that loss at Worthing and will serve the first game of his suspension against the Wings.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “It was a good, professional performance last week and we have to go and back it up against a close rival.

“The lads are in good spirits, but they’ll have to back it up on Saturday – back-to-back wins are big in this division.”

Dartford boss, Alan Dowson: “We need to tighten up all round. There are things defensively that we need to address, but we’ve got a good squad here and have every confidence we’ll bounce back [following last weekend’s defeat to Worthing].”

REF WATCH
Stephen Parkinson will take charge of Saturday’s encounter at Park View Road. He has refereed 18 league matches this term (15 in National League South and three in National League North), brandishing three red cards.

His last experience of officiating the Wings was during the 5-0 victory over Oxford City in DA16 in September.

Parkinson will be assisted by Adam Merchant and Stuart Smith.

OTHER INFO
Supporters can enjoy the lunchtime kick-off live on BT Sport with Everton v Arsenal being shown on the screens in the Wings Bar on Saturday afternoon with doors opening at 12pm.

Welling United will finally be revealing Wingy the AV1 No Isolation Robot as the club’s official mascot at Park View Road on Saturday in aid of the Chartwell Cancer Trust.
‘Wingy’ was revealed as the club’s mascot back in December to help raise awareness for Welling’s charitable partners and was set to accompany the teams onto the pitch for the game against Taunton Town on December 10th, only for the game to be postponed due to the freezing temperatures.
The robot will now take centre stage for the game against the Dartford on February 4th with the club aiming to raise enough money on the day to fund a new robot to help those children in need. Bucket collectors will be present to collect donations from kind supporters, while fans can also make donations online by clicking here.

PROGRAMME
Wingy the Robot is the cover star of Saturday’s official matchday programme in support of the Chartwell Cancer Trust.

Supporters can scan the QR code on the front cover to make a donation to the cause.
