The games continue to come thick and fast as Welling United face their second of three homes games in a week with Chippenham Town the opponents at Park View Road on Saturday.

Hot off the heels of the midweek frustration against Braintree Town in DA16, the Wings will be hoping to bounce back against the Bluebirds and secure a first win on home soil since New Year’s Day.

Warren Feeney will welcome back skipper James Dunne and Stefan Payne after the key pair both served their two-match suspensions, while Amadou Kassarate will be available following his dismissal on Tuesday night and will serve his suspension for the midweek meeting with Hemel Hempstead Town next week.

THE OPPOSITION
Chippenham find themselves entrenched in a fight for survival, currently occupying 20th position, one place above the drop zone on goal difference.

They have recorded six wins, 10 draws and 13 defeats from their 31 games, so far this term and are without a win in their last six outings.

The Bluebirds are unbeaten in three games, however, having secured three draws on the spin – most recently a 1-1 stalemate at Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday evening, although they were denied all three points by a 93rd-minute equaliser.

That run of three draws was kicked off with an impressive goalless draw at home to league leaders Ebbsfleet United, with Chippenham battling to a point with 10 men after Eddie Jones’ 38th-minute red card.

Defender Jones will remain suspended for the against the Wings this weekend.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “The mood in the camp is good. We’ve got 15 games to go and we’ll keep moving forward.

“It will be a tough game. I’ve been down to watch them and they have no fear, which is dangerous. They’re fighting for their lives, they’ve got high energy levels and they score goals, so we have to make sure we’re ready.”

Chippenham boss Gary Horgan: “The pitch at Welling has been a challenge over the last couple of years so we’ll have to deal with that slightly.

“We’re three unbeaten, but we’re disappointed with the manner of the draw [on Tuesday], so we’ll have to pick ourselves up. Although we’re outside of the relegation zone, we’ve missed three really good opportunities to pull away from it in recent weeks. We’ll go into Saturday and do everything we can to win.”

REF WATCH
Neil Pratt will be in charge of Saturday’s fixture. He has officiated 17 games, so far, this season, but this will be his first experience of refereeing a Wings fixture.

Pratt will be assisted by Daniel Procter and Joe Mckay.
