After three games on the road, Welling United finally return to the home comforts of Park View Road as they take on Braintree Town on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

The Wings will be looking to build on their form of recent weeks having suffered just one defeat in their last five and will head into the midweek clash in confident mood after George Alexander’s first-half hat-trick secured a 3-0 win at Slough Town at the weekend.

With three home in seven days coming up, it provides a perfect opportunity for Welling to get more points on the board as they eye a place in the top half of the table having no surpassed their total points tally for last season.

THE OPPOSITION
Braintree currently occupy the last play-off position in seventh with 14 wins, 10 draws and eight defeats from their 32 games, so far.

The are currently enjoying a run of seven games unbeaten with Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home Dartford proceeding three wins on the spin.

The Iron enjoyed a 4-1 victory over the Wings in the reverse fixture back in October – a result that Warren Feeney’s men will be keen to make amends for.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “We’re coming into a tough period with a lot of games, but I’m excited about Tuesday because I remember what Braintree did to us down at their place. As I said to my boys, you always get another chance at them.

“They’re a good side and they are where they are on merit, so we’re in for a tough game, but I’m excited about it because we’ll be looking for a reaction.”

REF WATCH
Matthew Norton will be the man in the middle on Tuesday evening.

He has refereed 18 games, so far, this season and it will be the third time he has officiated a Wings fixture this term having overseen the 1-0 win at Eastbourne Borough in September and the 2-1 home defeat to Farnborough Town in December.

Norton will be assisted by Rudin Preca and Tolu Sangowawa.
