King adds five to squad

Wings boss Steve King continues his preparations for the 2018/19 campaign with a further five signings.

First up is a familiar face, centre-back Anthony Acheampong returns for his third stint with the Wings after spells at Maidstone, Ebbsfleet and Barnet. The 28-year old arrives at PVR after promotion to the Vanarama National South with Dulwich Hamlet last term.

Further bolstering the back line is centre-back Richard Orlu. Orlu joins from Woking where he spent the 2017/18 season as captain. Before that he spent four years at Kent neighbours Dover Athletic and experienced promotion to the National League with The Whites becoming a fixture in a successful back line.

Adding some attacking threat is French winger Nassim L’Ghoul. Nassim follows Wings boss King from former club Whitehawk where he had become a fans’ favorite for his exciting wing play. L’Ghoul has had spells with St. Neots Town and the Nike Academy as well as various trials with League clubs such as Charlton Athletic.

Winger Gavin McCallum has also signed on for the upcoming season. The wide-man joins from Eastbourne Borough where he was voted Supporters’ Player of the Season in the most recent campaign. Former Canadian international McCallum made 39 appearances for The Sports last season contributing 15 goals and a number of assists from wide areas.

Finally, midfielder John Paul Kissock joins King’s new look Welling United. Kissock is familiar to King with the pair working together at both Macclesfield and guiding Whitehawk to the National South playoffs in 2015. Dubbed the “non-league Messi” during his younger years for his footballing style and resemblance to the Argentine superstar Kissock joins after most recently playing at Southport.

All five have signed one-year deals with the club.
