Wings stopper Kai McKenzie-Lyle kept a second straight clean sheet for Guyana, while Sam Cox was a second-half substitute as they helped their country to a goalless draw against Montserrat in the early hours of Wednesday morning

The Golden Jaguars rounded off their CONCACAF Nations League campaign with a point at the Wildey Turf Stadium in Barbados, having already secured second spot in Group B and a place in the preliminary round for the Gold Cup in Miami in June.

McKenzie-Lyle, earning his 11th cap for Guyana, played a key part in the draw, making a vital save from a dangerous Montserrat header early in the second half.

Cox, meanwhile, entered the fray in the 72nd minute, replacing Jeremy Garrett to earn his 35th cap for his country, taking the captain’s armband as he took up a position at right-back.

Guyana will now prepare for this summer’s Gold Cup campaign which will see them face two preliminary games for a right to advance to the last 16 of the competition which is being hosted in the USA.
