Goldberg snaps up loanee

Wings boss Mark Goldberg has today added tenacious midfielder Theo Widdrington to his squad ahead of Saturday’s tough test against runaway league-leaders Wealdstone.

Widdrington, 20, joins Welling from Bristol Rovers in a deal which will last until January. Theo has already experienced Vanarama National South football with Havant and Waterlooville’s title-winning squad in 2017-18.

Originally starting at Portsmouth, Widdrington joined Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2018 and went on to make his first-team debut as a second-half substitute in a Checkatrade Trophy fixture against Exeter City last November before loan spells at Bognor Regis Town.
