Warren Feeney is prepared for another tough test at Park View Road at his side take on Dover Athletic on Tuesday evening.

The fourth-placed Wings go into the game off the back of a six-game unbeaten run and are keen to continue their good run of form against the Whites under the lights in DA16.

And Feeney is backing his new-look set of players to keep the run going, while keeping their feet on the ground.

“I know there will be ups and downs all season,” he said.

“But we’re going well at the moment and we want to keep that train going.

“We’ve brought in 16 or 17 players. They’ve gelled straight away and we’re probably ahead of where we should be, so it’s full credit to them.

“As a club, moving forward, you’re looking at it from last year, we’ve got new owners now who want to take the club forward, so we’re building it slowly.

It’s a great place to be. They’re honest boys, they train hard, they don’t moan and I’m luck to have them.”

Meanwhile, speaking of Welling’s midweek opponents, Feeney said: “The games are coming thick and fast and it’s another tough test.

“They’re all tough games. When you’re in a position like we are at the minute, teams want to come and beat you.

“We respect everyone and we’ll do our homework on them. I know Andy [Hessenthaler] well, he’s a good guy, and one thing I know he’ll be doing is have his players fired up because that’s how he was as a player.

“We’ll have to dust ourselves down, go again and, hopefully, get a result.”
