Wings boss Adrian Pennock made just the one change from the side that beat Weston-super-Mare last Saturday. Matt Carruthers started for the first time in a month replacing the injured Rob Owen.

The early stages of the game saw the Wings put Yeading under sustained pressure. To add to Ding's problems they also lost their keeper Delroy Preddie after only ten minutes due to injury. Preddie was replaced by sub keeper Luke Blackmore.

The early possession for the Wings provided chances for Matt Carruthers who hit a fierce right-footed shot from 25-yards only to be thwarted by Blackmore who tipped the shot just over the bar. This was followed by a great chance for James Pinnock to open the scoring who unfortunately dragged his shot just wide of the post.

After a good spell with no reward Welling's focused slipped. Frustratingly, this lack of concentration was punished by Yeading who on the stroke of halftime scored when on-loan signing Lee Roache gratefully received Chris Moore's poor back pass only to slip the ball past Wing's keeper Jamie Turner.

Pennock had to make changes in the second half and brought on Danny Kedwell for midfielder Matt Carruthers. This had an immediate effect on the game, providing greater penetration in to Yeading's half to the point where the Wings almost remained camped in Yeading's half for much of the remainder of the match.

This dominance created a number of chances for the Wing's with the closest falling to Che Stadhart who had a great opportunity to level the score when a James Pinnock header was parried into his path, but with an open goal before him he failed to make contact. This somehow said it all on a day of frustration.

Stadhart had other chances, as did James Pinnock who failed to convert from 5 yards after shooting wide of the post.

In the end, it was just not Wing's day and in August of this year they lost another three points to the Ding's. The result was particularly painful on a day when Weymouth, Havant and Lewes all failed to pickup three points and a win for the Wing's could have got them right back in to the play-off pack!

The Wings now travel to Woking in the FA Trophy which will be a though test for Adrian Pennock's side who need to get back to scoring and winning ways for this cup match and against Bognor in the league the following week.

Time to really get behind the team for a major push at such a critical part of the season!

Come on you Wings!
