WSU Sponsor a Goal Scheme 2009-10
Sponsor a Goal is a scheme set up for fans to help WSU raise funds for the team, club and supporters whilst having the interest of tracking how many goals are scored for the Wings throughout the season.The format will be similar to that of previous seasons. Regular updates on the running total amount sponsored as goals are scored will appear on this website throughout the season.
At the start of the following season there is a competition question for you to answer to be entered into the draw to win a prize of £100.
Arrangements for 2009-10 campaign
This season, the demise of Setanta Sports means there is no League Cup, and the London Senior Cup goals will not be included. The scheme will therefore be based on you pledging to sponsor each goal scored for the Wings in League, FA Cup, FA Trophy, and Kent Senior Cup matches for a nominated sum - typically 50p or £1 - and then paying the due amount on designated collection days, spaced so that the payments are not too onerous when they come around!
The planned collection dates are as follows, although some of these may change if later cup rounds etc disrupt the schedule:
| Sat 05 Sep | v. Newport C. | ||
| Sat 24 Oct | v. Hampton and Richmond B. | ||
| Sat 05 Dec | v. Worcester C. | ||
| Sat 13 Feb | v. Dorchester T. | ||
| Sat 20 Mar | v. Maidenhead U. | ||
| Sat 10 Apr | v. Eastleigh | ||
| Sat 24 Apr | v. Basingstoke T. | ||
Please sign up if you can and support your team and club; if you are interested, contact Ken via this website or at any home match at the WSU table by the club shop.
Prize Competition and Draw for Members of the 2008-09 campaign
The prize draw for participants in the 2008-09 Sponosr-a-Goal campaign was made before the home game on Saturday 29 August. The nmaes of all those who successfully answered the question "Which trophy have the Wings won three times?" went into the draw, which was made by Andy Ford. The correct answer was, of course, Kent Senior Cup, and the lucky winner was Mark Fenton.
