In anticipation of tomorrow’s big game for the Wings we spoke to Wings boss Jamie Coyle on Friday afternoon to get his thoughts.

“First of all I would like to thank Karl Robinson and his staff for bringing his squad down to play tomorrow and wish him all the success this season, it’s a friendly I played in a few years back for us and I know the players and the fans always enjoy this one.

Over the last three weeks we have seen a number of trialists in both training sessions and friendly games at Welling Town, Bedfont Sports and Phoenix  Sports, where some have done well and others slightly struggled.

After Saturday’s game we will be making a decision on all of them that remain so we can start working even harder on the training ground with the squad that we envisage working with come August 5th, which also allows us to start increasing the amount of minutes each player gets in the forthcoming pre-season fixtures.

Tuesday was a very worth while game at Phoenix where again we had a mixture in both halves of trialists and first team players and as expected looked rather rusty and disjointed. The main objective was to get 45 minutes in the players legs and also see how some of the trialists interacted with our current players. Clearly some were out of their depth, while others done really well and will be involved in the game tomorrow.

I hope you all enjoy the game tomorrow
