Coyle happy ahead of Phoenix friendly on Tuesday night

The Wings are in action tonight (Tuesday), when they travel to Phoenix Sports for a pre season friendly. We spoke to the Wings Manager Jamie Coyle to get his thoughts ahead of what many will see as the Wings first team squad’s opening friendly.

“Training has been going really well with the intensity building up over the last two weeks. The work load is being monitored by our strength and conditioning coach Craig Lewis” said Coyle when asked how things are shaping up this morning.

The Wings have sent mainly trialists out to their first two friendlies and we asked Jamie how he thought they went “We have had two very successful trial games against Welling Town and Bedfont Sports, where a number of our new academy boys and trialists that have been recommended to our management team and Director Of Football had an opportunity to impress. Three/four have been invited in to training and will have a opportunity to play tonight (at Phoenix) and at Park View Road vs Charlton Athletic on Saturday”

Turning to tonight’s match, Coyle offered up some of his plans for this evening “We are planning to play two separate 11’s against Phoenix to ease everyone in and will continue to gradually increase the minutes the boys get between now and the start of the season. Again I value the input of Craig which will ensure the players are not overloading too early and will be fresh and match fit by the Truro game on August 5th”

Supporters travelling the short journey to Phoenix tonight are advised that Adult admission is £5 and kids are free, kick off 7:45pm
