It was an even first period between the two local sides with neither team creating many clear-cut chances. Andrew Pugh headed over early on for the Wings before Chris Moore headed wide.
17 minutes in and Bromely had a goal disallowed when Danny Hockton's header was ruled offside. Nevertheless, the Lilywhites took the lead half an hour in. A ball over the top found Hockton unmarked and the striker was allowed to curl the ball past the helpless Jamie Turner.
Despite going in at the break with a 1-0 deficit, the Wings responded with a stunning second half performance. It took Welling just three minutes to draw level when Ellis Green fired a first time volley past Andy Walker and into the back of the net.
Welling's tails where up and they took the lead just minutes after equalising. Pugh and Omari Coleman combined in a sublime one-two passing move, which allowed Pugh to slot home for his first Welling goal.
Bromley did have their chances to pull level, Garath McLeary was denied by Jamie Turner and Neil Smith blocked Hockton's effort. The Lilywhites continued to press in search of an equaliser, Robbie Ryan cleared off the line and Gareth Williams had a low shot flash inches wide.
Williams then saw his dipping volley crash off the bar and at the other end Chris Moore headed wide. However, the match was finally wrapped up 15 minutes before time. Coleman had a weak chip cleared but after some neat play from Sam Keevil, loan striker Pugh, made the game safe at 3-1, firing the resulting ball home.
Further chances for Pugh and Marlon Patterson could have increased the scoreline but Boss Neil Smith will be more than happy with the 3-1 result.
Welling welcome Wealdstone to Park View Road on Tuesday in the London Senior Cup before travelling to Dorchester Town on Saturday in the Blue Square South.

Extracts from Interview:
"Brilliant, a local derby, it's always nice and a fantastic crowd as well. The support the boys got from the supporters was second to none and I think the boys thrived on it in the second half. Going 1-0 down we were disappointed but I told them we should stay in the game we have always got a chance. We had as many chances last week against Basingstoke without putting them away. Andrew Pugh what a player he was today, absolutely fantastic.
I have got every faith in the players here, I have told them we can't keep making mistakes, we need to correct them and they did that in the second half. They were faultless, that is the commitment I want week in week out."
