After Welling's disappointing result on Saturday, the Wings welcomed back Invicta for the replay on Tuesday evening. Boss Adrian Pennock made two changes to the side that drew at the weekend, Leon Solomon replaced Mark Goodfellow whilst Matt Bodkin dropped to the bench in place of the returning Che Stadhart.

The Wings had the better of the first half and were in total control. 10 minutes in and some good work from the ever impressive Danny Kedwell gifted Che Stadhart an opportunity but the striker scuffed his shot.

Unsurprisingly, Kedwell created the majority of chances and a low drive from the Wings top scorer was well saved by Tony Kessell on 20 minutes. The Wings could have had a penalty minutes later when Day’s cross eventually found Stadhart whose volley looked to have been handled in the box but referee Whitton waved play on.

Despite the domination of the first period the Wings failed to create an opening and were punished on the stroke of halftime. A left wing free-kick from Steve Norman was swung round the wall past Jamie Turner into the back of the net.

Into the second half and Welling came out in a far more determined manner and it wasn't long before they were on level terms. Just four minutes after the restart and a great cross from Ellis Green found Kedwell who sent a looping header over Kessell into the corner of the net.

A further 26 minutes later and Welling took a deserved lead. The Wings were awarded a penalty when Kola Okikiolu was adjudged to have handled inside the area. Kedwell stepped up to slot the ball home to the keepers right for his tenth goal of the season.

Stadhart went close five minutes later when the striker headed over the bar Green’s cross. However, the former Margate man wouldn't have to wait long to score his second of the season. In injury time substitute Ronayne Benjamin's low cross was met by Stadhart who side footed the ball into the net from close range.

The result now confirms the next round tie with AFC Hornchurch on 14th October. However, the Wings first travel to Hayes on Saturday in the Nationwide Conference South, kick-off 1pm.

Come on you Wings!
