Like the game against Lewes last weekend the Wings were in total control over the in-form Farnborough side. It took the homeside just 5 minutes to create their first chance of the match. Good linkup play from Danny Kedwell and Jamie Day allowed the captain to hit a right-footed shot from outside the area, forcing Kevin Scriven into his first real save.
14 minutes later and Day was again involved. Chris Moore's pass allowed the midfielder to fire just over the bar. Just a minute later and the Wings should have been in front. Day's inch perfect through pass found Kedwell who crossed low for Martin Carthy but he couldn't quite reach the ball and the chance went astray.
The closest Farnborough came to scoring was Matt Pattison's header that flew harmlessly wide.
Welling's dominance finally paid off when the homeside took the lead on 29 minutes. Joe Bruce's fine volley came off the bar for Green to touch home for his third goal of the campaign.
Into the second period and despite an early chance for Boro's subsuite Ty Smith the Wings finished the game comfortably.
Kedwell almost doubled his side's lead on 70 minutes. The strike hit a fierce shot from outside the box, which saw Scriven make an excellent save to deny the Wings top-scorer.
Ellis Green nearly rounded off an excellent day with a second but the winger shot wide before Welling secured the deserved win.
Next up the Wings play Cambridge City at Stonebridge Road, Gravesend & Northfleet on Wednesday.

Extracts from the Interview:
"I thought we was excellent. They were always going to be tough because they have beaten the likes of Salisbury and Braintree. You put 10 points on their total; and they would be fighting for the playoffs. We looked very strong and there were some good performances out there today. We have got a great opportunity; we have put ourselves back in it now, with the results having gone our way.
I thought we looked very solid. The fans really got behind the boys and I was pleased for them. Especially second half we looked very solid. There were some very good individual performances. We just got to take every game as it comes. "
