It was a quiet first half with neither side creating a great deal of chances. Des Boateng's early run and shot from the edge of the box was well saved in the opening encounter. It took the Wings a further 20 minutes before creating another opportunity. Danny Kedwell saw his fierce right-footed shot tipped over the bar by Richard Martin.
However, Welling wouldn't have to wait long before taking the lead. Leon Solomon's inch perfect cross found Kedwell unmarked inside the area where the striker headed home.
Wings keeper Jamie Turner had very little to do all half with the visitors rarely involved in anything notable.
The second half was a much better affair for the home crowd. Just two minutes after the restart the Wings added to their lead. Ben Lewis' highball over the Magpies defence found Matt Bodkin where the midfielder’s shot was blocked into the feet of Martin Carthy who nodded over the line.
Jamie Turner was forced into his first real save of the match when Guy Lopez fired a shot from outside the box but it was well saved by the Wings number 1.
Boateng saw his shot bounce back off the crossbar on the hour mark as Welling continued to press forward.
The homeside were rewarded with a third five minutes from time. Ryan Hill brought down Jamie Day inside the area and the Wings were awarded a penalty. Danny Kedwell confidently stepped up to send Martin the wrong way for his second of the afternoon.
Welling welcome Bognor Regis Town to Park View Road on Tuesday in the second of three home games in a week.
Come on you Wings!

Extracts from the Interview:
"Fantastic result, the performance was great. We were spot on today and a great follow-up from last week. That's six goals in the last two games and the good thing is we can chop and change formations.
I thought we looked very solid and there was only one opportunity I thought we should have cleared our lines. Defensively as a team I thought we looked very solid. The front players, midfielder players, the back four and Jamie Turner were excellent today."
