As expected Adrian Pennock made an abundance of changes to the line-up from Wednesday's 3-1 win over Chatham Town, with all the major players present in the squad.

The first half was one of limited opportunities with the Wings dominating possession but created few chances to capitalise on this. Chris Moore went closest for the Wings as his header from a Jamie Day corner was deflected just wide of the post. Again the Wings could have been in front when a Danny Kedwell cross flashed across goal but unfortunately no one was there to finish.

The biggest chance of the first half fell to the home side when two minutes into stoppage time Wings keeper Jamie Turner produced a superb save to deny Jack Midson's header.

Bishop's Stortford came out the livelier side, as they were in front only three minutes into the second period. David Rainford hit a superb volley past the helpless Jamie Turner to give the home side the lead.

The Wings should have equalised on the hour mark. Chris Moore headed a Jamie Day free-kick onto the crossbar . Lee Shearer then headed the rebound back onto the crossbar and The Bishops managed to clear.

However, in the 89th minute Welling drew level. Danny Kedwell headed on Day's free-kick into the path of Che Stadhart who nodded the ball home from close range.

A dire performance from the Wings and one many will happily forget. With a big game on Tuesday Night the players will have to be on top form to defeat highflying Havant & Waterlooville at Park View Road.
